Sam Megwa
Programmes Director

Sam Megwa is Programmes Director at OCIMF, where he directs the development and operation worldwide of all OCIMF inspection and management self-assessment programmes, comprising of IT system development, policies and procedures management, Inspector training and accreditation, contractor management, industry and government relations. Sam was the OCIMF Deputy Director and Chief Representative to IMO from 2017 to 2019. From 2014 to 2017, he was head of strategy, risk and compliance for bp Shipping during which time he was appointed Chairman of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) - a global business network of more than 100 maritime companies and associations that is focused on tackling maritime corruption.

Earlier in his career, Sam gained extensive leadership and technical experience in marine assurance and commercial operations with bp Shipping. Sam is a mariner with almost 30 years in the shipping and marine industry.
