To ensure the highest standards are applied across the industry, OCIMF has developed inspection and self-assessment programmes to promote best practices and regulatory compliance in the marine industry.

With specific programmes developed for different segments of the marine industry, OCIMF’s programmes provide reliable, standardised and stringently managed risk-assessment tools to charterers, ship vessel operators, terminal operators and government bodies concerned with ship safety, security and the environment.

OCIMF’s programmes include the Ship Inspection Report Programme (SIRE), Barge Inspection Report Programme (BIRE), the Management Self Assessment (MSA) for tankers, barges and offshore vessels, the Offshore Vessel Inspection Database (OVID) for offshore vessels and mobile offshore drilling units and the Marine Terminal Information System (MTIS) for oil terminal operators and managers.

SIRE

Since its inception, OCIMF’s Ship Inspection Report Programme (SIRE) has helped to support continuous improvement in the safety of the marine industry by providing a robust tanker risk assessment tool and vessel inspection report database.
